Have you wondered what others think of you, questioned your ability or refrained from trying something new for fear of being judged? We often concern ourselves with how others perceive us, how we fit into their view of the world. We root our authenticity in outside validation. This is the lie we so desperately cling to; that we are who others think us to be.
“People may flatter themselves just as much by thinking that their faults are always present to other people’s minds, as if they believe that the world is always contemplating their individual charms and virtues.”Elizabeth Gaskell
In reality, no one is paying that much attention to you, your flaws, or even your charms. And if they are, it is in relation to how it serves their own interests.
If you look within for your sufficiency, the world will shape itself to you. It’s like the law of attraction; become your authentic self and you will attract the right people. Be about what you stand for. Don’t choose anything that goes against it. If it’s alright with you, the world will learn to be alright with it. Life is too short to waste it trying to be anything other than yourself, or trying to fit a mould that you were NOT created to fit in. You have all that you need inside of you to be happy, to be successful to be truly free. Use it!
“Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakes” – Carl Gustav Jung
